A self-confessed music junkie, Barbara is a writer/director/producer/content creator who began with a degree in Cinema & Photography and jumpstarted her career working for PBS and Aerosmith. She then landed at MTV where she found her tribe and began directing and producing promos with dozens of musical legends. She was recruited by Partizan into the world of commercial directing where she was known for having music and pop culture embedded in the DNA of her work.

As a freelancer, she has directed and/ or produced promos for Networks including VH1, The Sundance Channel, A&E, History, TBS, and Epix where she worked on network episodic promos, artist specials, series launches, and campaign music videos. She branched into long form with a short she wrote and directed called California Stars, featuring John Doe and with original music by Golden Smog.

She then went full on into the music documentary world as both a director and producer. She loves bringing artists’ stories to life and is especially fond of using great archival to enrich the projects she works on. In that vain, she has worked alongside artists and music estates (Pearl Jam, The Black Crowes, and the estates of George Michael and Chris Cornell) and has consulted with them on locating and utilizing historical assets for their archives to use in projects ranging from social campaigns, behind-the-scenes pieces, retrospectives, and documentaries. She has shot in locales all over the globe and is a member of the Director’s Guild of America (DGA). She currently resides in Los Angeles.
